Book of Possessions is published.

Ordered compiled by the General Court, it is the earliest thorough survey of land holdings in the Massachusetts Bay Colony and covers the years 1645 to 1648. Called the “Domesday Book” by Annie Thwing, it lists the property boundaries of 246 early residents.
